The race to 1,000,000 points

This silly idea came about when Cybersal & Virtualgaz decided to give their Scrabbling a strange twist back in December 1988 with the addition of a swivelling DeLuxe board with tile racks!

Initial estimations showed that it might take as long as 47 years to complete.

There was a massive onslaught during the mid 90's. This period saw records tumble, averages soar and huge totals with the pair at their peak skill. May 1994 saw the introduction of the 3rd edition of Chambers OSW making scores even bigger with newly allowable 2-letter words such as 'xi' 'xu' and 'qi'.
